Armin Rosin founded the Egerländer-AlphornTerzett in the year 2000. Rosin, known and valued as a trombonist, wanted to take the natural instrument blown mostly by amateurs to a different level, both in expression and in literature. Several composers have recently written for Alphorn and Ensemble. Some of these works were dedicated to Armin Rosin.

Original Egerländer Alphorn Quartet with:

Armin Rosin, Ernst Hutter, Michael Unger, Dieter Eckert

All players have completed a classical education in the major subject trombone at the Stuttgart Music Academy, where Armin Rosin has been a professor since 1980. Today they are active in a wide variety of orchestras (Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, SWR-Big-Band, original Egerländer musicians, etc.) and as educators.

"Aus der Lust an der Freud" (which means as much as `because of the pleasure of joy), as they say in Southern Germany, they have dedicated themselves to the alphorn-blowing in addition to their main occupation and keep on winning more and more enthusiastic friends of the Alphorn.
